What does a truck dispatcher do?

A truck dispatcher helps a carrier find suitable freight, discuss rates with brokers, coordinate pickup and delivery details, and organize the paperwork behind a load. The carrier approves loads and remains responsible for its operation.

Do I need my own MC authority?

Independent dispatch is for carriers using their own active authority. Operators without their own active authority can explore the TOAD carrier program, which has separate qualification and onboarding requirements. Read about the carrier program and operating status.

How much does TOAD charge?

Independent dispatch is 10% of total load revenue for carriers using their own active authority. The TOAD carrier program is 15% total: a 10% dispatch component plus a 5% carrier-program component, both calculated on the same total load revenue. Operating costs are separate. Carrier service requires active TOAD authority and approved onboarding. See carrier-program details.

How does the 7-day free dispatch trial work?

Try TOAD’s dispatch service for 7 days with no dispatch fee. Experience our load sourcing, rate discussions, trip coordination, and paperwork support before choosing an ongoing relationship. The trial starts after onboarding and confirmation of your start date. The offer covers dispatch only; applicable carrier-program charges and operating costs remain separate. Preparing an introduction does not start the trial.

Do you guarantee loads or weekly revenue?

No. Freight availability, rates, operating costs, equipment, and timing affect the result. TOAD does not guarantee loads, a rate per mile, weekly revenue, or profit.

Can referrals help lower my fee?

Yes. Each driver you refer who joins TOAD earns you a 2.5-percentage-point reduction in your service rate. For example, 15% becomes 12.5% after one qualifying referral. Have the driver identify you during onboarding so TOAD can verify the referral and confirm your adjusted rate. See how referral savings work.

Why is the TOAD carrier program 15%?

Carriers using their own authority need dispatch support only, so their rate is 10%. Approved operators joining the TOAD carrier operation receive dispatch plus the carrier arrangement, bringing the total to 15%. The extra 5% is calculated on total load revenue; it is not a government registration charge.

Which areas does TOAD focus on?

Florida and Southeast lanes are our focus. Your equipment, location, authority status, home time, and preferred lanes shape the dispatch plan. Explore our Florida and Southeast approach.

Does the website send my introduction to TOAD?

No. The current form creates a downloadable introduction in your browser. Nothing is submitted to TOAD, and it does not reserve a load, start a trial, or create a contract.

What should I avoid putting in the introduction?

Do not include Social Security numbers, bank details, identity documents, license images, or other sensitive records. The first introduction only needs basic contact, equipment, location, and lane preferences.
