What does a truck dispatcher do?
A truck dispatcher helps a carrier find suitable freight, discuss rates with brokers, coordinate pickup and delivery details, and organize the paperwork behind a load. The carrier approves loads and remains responsible for its operation.
Do I need my own MC authority?
Independent dispatch is for carriers using their own active authority. Operators without their own active authority can explore the TOAD carrier program, which has separate qualification and onboarding requirements. Read about the carrier program and operating status.
How much does TOAD charge?
Independent dispatch is 10% of total load revenue for carriers using their own active authority. The TOAD carrier program is 15% total: a 10% dispatch component plus a 5% carrier-program component, both calculated on the same total load revenue. Operating costs are separate. Carrier service requires active TOAD authority and approved onboarding. See carrier-program details.
How does the 7-day free dispatch trial work?
Try TOAD’s dispatch service for 7 days with no dispatch fee. Experience our load sourcing, rate discussions, trip coordination, and paperwork support before choosing an ongoing relationship. The trial starts after onboarding and confirmation of your start date. The offer covers dispatch only; applicable carrier-program charges and operating costs remain separate. Preparing an introduction does not start the trial.
